OSMPA Welcome's Violin Teacher, Jamie Godber!

The OSMPA is very excited to introduce violin teacher Jamie Godber! Jamie comes to the OSMPA with an incredible amount of experience, enthusiasm and passion in music and teaching. We are very pleased to have Jamie join our team and we give Jamie a warm welcome to the OSMPA! 

Jamie Godber holds a Bachelor of Music in Violin Performance from the University of Toronto and is now pursuing her Masters of Music under the tutelage of Timothy Ying. She began her studies with the Oakville Suzuki Association at the age of 3. Jamie grew up participating in Kiwanis and Peel Music Festivals receiving top prizes. She also holds her Grade 10 RCM in Violin Performance (First Class Honours). She has performed in masterclasses for Jonathan Crow, Marie Berard, Mark Fewer and members of the Berlin Philharmonic, Jupiter String Quartet, St. Lawrence String Quartet and Gryphon Trio, among others. Jamie led the U of T Symphony Orchestra as concert-master in select programs and was a member of the Oakville Symphony Orchestra for three years as a Young Artist Award Recipient. Her string quartet, the Aeris Quartet, won the U of T Felix Galimir Award in Chamber Music Excellence, as well as the Haydn Challenge in the 2017/18 academic year. They continue to perform frequently through-out the GTA. Jamie recently completed her Suzuki Teacher Training and is familiar with both the Suzuki Method and Royal Conservatory System. She is so pleased to be sharing her passion for music through teaching and connecting with her students. In her spare time Jamie enjoys playing hockey and singing!
