Collection: Piano Fingers Mini Camp


Session 1
Date: August 10th to August 14th 2020
Time: 9am to 1pm (4 hours)
Ages: 4 to 9
Students will be grouped according to age for the piano portion of the camp

What Student's Will Learn

✔︎ Campers will discover the foundations in musical concepts including music notation, dynamics, tone colours, time values and understanding of the keyboard
✔︎ Campers will develop proper piano technique in proper arm, finger, and body positions
✔︎ Develop skills in rhythm and ear training in a fun group environment 
✔︎ Develop skills in pitch and sound through exercises both at the keyboard and through group activities 
✔︎ Campers will learn a variety of pieces and build confidence to be performed at the end of week mini-concert 

Program Structure

The Piano Fingers Program runs for one week, for four hours per day. The program runs in the mornings from 9am to 1pm. Students will be assigned to their own keyboard during the piano lesson of camp. Students will develop an understanding of pitch and music notation; and begin to form their own repertoire of pieces to practice during the week. 

Camp Material

Camp materials are included in the camp fee and will be given to your camper throughout the week of camp. Campers will take home their complied camp materials and music at the end of camp. Books included are:
  • Theory Monster Book 1/Book 2 or Book 3 *Depending on camper experience
  • OSMPA Practice Planner
Returning campers and students who are already working on Theory Monster and have these materials, please use code: "osmpastudent" at checkout to opt out of these books. Please remember to pack these books for camp!

Piano Fingers Mini Concert

Friday, August 14th 2020 at 1:00pm-1:30pm - Scheduled Mini Concert 

Students will be preparing piano and vocal pieces to showcase their work at the end of camp! Parents are welcome to attend the event. Please limit your attendees to 2 audience members as we have very limited space with the number of performers and audience!

Things to bring to Camp

A peanut-free lunch. Please note we have students with severe nut allergies - absolutely no nuts at the OSMPA.
